If I were you I would go with the K&N. In fact I did. I cant say much about the SLP because I have only seen them but I like the way the K&N looks and I noticed a nice difference with the K&N.

My vote is for the K&N!!!

(That is if you have a LT1. If you have a LS1 then I dont know. I guess I would still go with the K&N just because I have one now and it works for me.)

I like the K&N kit, I've used it for four years and it's been great. Great bang for the buck !! The only thing that has ever happend in my situation was the filter came off one time. Luckly for me it was just rolling around on the splash guard. I cought it quick, and next time I put it on better and zip tied it just in case it happend again.

ok.. that didnt help at all..

The reason why I ask is because we need to know if its a LT1, LS1 or even an L98..

LT1 uses a CAI setup

LS1 has a lid but can also get CAI of a sort.

so your year model of car would help tons.

If it is for an LT1... whatever you think looks better. That's all it comes down too. They both perform the exact same IMO.

no.. for the LT1 is comes down to purpose..

The K&N and the other plastic units will not accept the cooling of ICE at the track..

the SLP (which is also the GMPP unit) and Arizone Speed and Marine are the only ones made of a metal.. If you go to the track and ICE your intake along with your CAI you will see some big gains.. I personally saw .3 <-- thats 3 tenths! from this technique on an auto (for consistancy)

There is no heatsoak from the engine on the SLP unit as some had spoken of.. I live in Houston and would drive 2+ hours in traffic and get home, pop the hood and touch the CAI and it was like metal.. cool to the touch. .not even warm.

I have the moroso and its nice and all, but it isnt that visually appealing in my opinion. I really wish I had gone with the slp or arizona speed and marine unit now.... in fact if anyone needs a moroso I be willing to sell for 110 shipped. Its in perfect shape with maybe oh.....5-6k or maybe 7k on it. pm or email me if interested.

There all generally the same....Price should be your only factor...Some like the looks of the SLP better...I owned a K&N on my 97 and a Moroso on my 96...performance wise there all the same FYI Lingenfelters cai is very similar to the K&N or Moroso but cheaper
