SLP cold air induction box!?
SLP cold air induction box!?
I've seen this "cold air induction box" for sale online everywhere. Does it do anything? and it also looks REALLY easy to make, if I had a template or instructions I could make one out of sheet metal in an hour and save 60 bucks or so! (http://www.lmperformance.com/1043/1.html)
Re: SLP cold air induction box!?
it does what you think it does. It helps 'ram' or 'scoop' cooler air into the lid. It works, but if you're looking for the 'ramming' effect you'll have to use the seals that come w/ it... or make your own...
Oh, don't expect to see any BIG #'s out of it... It's just a cooler air intake than the stocker. (not the SS stocker)

Re: SLP cold air induction box!?
looks like the SLP or FTRA setup.
not all that affective as a ram air, and semi useful as a cold air kit.
if you plan to spend the money...just pony up for the real ram air setup - SSRA
it's a solid performer

Re: SLP cold air induction box!?
They don't have any real track numbers to back the SSRA, I don't think. But when you get out on the HW and cruise at about 75 and give it the mat, you'll prolly notice a small change.
id say about 5-8hp.....10 may be a stratch, but i suppose it's doable.
