Question SLP CIA install help please.

I have a SLP CAI I want to put on my car but the last person who owned my car had a little fender bender and did not fix the corner so the CIA won't fit in.
If you look at my pictures all I have to do is just cut some out with a sawzall and it will go in fine.
I'm going to get there car fixed next year and get a new rad support but I don't want to cut something out that's going to make problems for me later.
It looks like I can just buy that one piece that the CIA goes down into?

Check my pictures out and let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Chris G.

until you get it fixed I would just not use the plastic shield that comes with it that fits inside that hole. You will get a little hot air into the filter, but its still better then stock and if you jam that plastic piece in there it will probably break. I broke mine, and a replacement was like 9.95 from slp

Re: SLP CIA install help please.

Well that's the problem It won't go in the hole because it's so badly damaged.
That is the CIA itself.
I did not get the plate with it I got it used but I will make my own.
I have to cut the bottom out to make the CIA fit.
Like I said I don't want to make it harder to repair later when I take it to a shop.
Thanks,

Chris G.

Re: SLP CIA install help please.

are you trying to put the cai through the hole w/ the filters attached? if so its not gonna fit even if the hole wasn't bent a little. install the cai w/out the filters first, then go underneath the drivers side fender, remove the splash guard, and install the filters from there. can be a little tricky b/c of working room but not bad w/ a set of rhino ramps or something. i know this is what i had to do b/c the whole assy. would not fit through. also slp did not send me the plastic piece to fill in the extra space. haven't had any problems outta it though. here's a pic of my cai on my 94 3.4, wh/ basically is the same cai. slp cai

hope it helps. l8tr

Re: SLP CIA install help please.

You misunderstand what I meant sorry.
I can't get the CIA in without the air filters on.
It won't go in because that bottom piece is so badly bent.
So for now till I get the corner of the car fixed I was going to cut the bottom piece so I can get the CIA in I know the filters go in through the bottom.
let me know what you think.
Thanks,

Chris G.

Yes that's what I mean Cold induction Air.
Well I cut the bottom out and found out that it still won't fit because the radiator support is kicked in at the bottom so I have to hammer it out to get it in.

Re: SLP CIA install help please.

Just Checking But I Have Only Heard It Called Cold Air Induction.... Anyways On Mine I Had To Remove The Plastic Piece By The Tire And Put The Filter Through That Hole And Connect The Plastic Piece With The Rubber Piece From The Top Side.
