Simple Question - Chiltons Or Haynes

ill be tearing into my motor to put in some head gaskets soon, just wanted everyones opinion/experiences.

I have one of each, I find the Chilton manual to be more detailed. If you want the best service manuals, then the Helms GM service manuals are the way to go.

Invaluable. The others are handy, but they're not quite on the same level as a Helms.

Just checked...$135.00 for an 02 edition service manual.

ive torn down quite a few motors in my time, so 21.00 for a chilton versus 135 for the helms. hmmmmm, pretty easy choice really. while i am sure there is more detailed information in the latter of the two, i cant see spending the extra 110 that would almost pay for my head gaskets and top end kit on a few extra hints, maybe later down the road, but for all practical purposes lets keep this a discussion between chiltons and haynes as alot of people will not drop the 135 for helms
