10 & 7? That's really weird to me, most of the time I drive with my left at 8 and my right on the shifter or at about 4

They used to teach 10 and 2, just read an article somewhere that 8 and 4 is recommended now because of air bags.

One hand on top the wheel, the other hand banging the gears.

If I'm cornering aggressively I put them at 9 and 3

If I'm on the highway I twiddle the wheel with my left hand resting on my left leg.

In my M6 car, I always drove with my left hand at about 11 and my right hand at 4 or 5 so it was close to the shifter. In my A4 car, I drive with my left hand at 7 and right hand at 3 or so... Habit from the old car I guess...

me too, when accelerating or cornering, but once I get to cruising speed, its right hand at 3-4, and left hand out the window.

I thought it was supposed to be left hand at 12 with the wrist elevated, right elbow on the center counsel with the fist under the chin. Collar popped and white hat on crooked, maybe I got some bad information.
