Should I trade in the LT1 for an LS1?
Should I trade in the LT1 for an LS1?
i love my car...i love the front fascia compared to the LS1 camaros...not a big fan of 98+ camaros
i was probably gonna dump in 3-5,000 into my car this summer anyways but i was thinkin...should i just trade it in for an LS1 instead?
i dont mind the 98+ camaros (i love the SS's) but the z28s look a little incomplete....but the LS1 makes up for it
my car is mint though...black on grey cloth interior (mint)...6 speed...5 spoke 30th anni wheels (if you wanna call em that..)
and only 85,000kms (for a 1997 that's fairly good i think?) it equates to 53,000miles

As far as trading in for an LS1... it all depends on what you're looking for... IMO trading in an LT1 for an LS1 for just more power in general is pretty pointless as both engines have pretty much the same potential. It just takes alittle more cash to get an LT1 there but it's made up in the cost it's going to take to trade in your car. ALSO... If you have a 30th aniversery edition, unless you get a 35th edition you have a pretty special car... That alone would make it a keeper for me. If you were looking for a less beaten on engine with lower miles I'd say get the LS1 but as uou stated you only have 53K which surpasses many LS1's... (not MOST but a good few)
IMO, you got yourself a keeper...

I love seeing nice clean LT1's
Not too many around sad to say
I'd keep your car, I'm in the same situation and decided to just keep mine at this point some more

Yup.
I'd build a new motor for it, pull the original motor and stick it on a pallet. When time comes to sell it, offer it "as is" with original motor included for a high price, or with the original motor installed for a lower price, and you get to keep the hipo motor.

I'd say if you really want an LS1 then get a trans am. I don't like the newer fronts of the camaros, but I do love mine. Good luck with what ever you decide.
Re: Should I trade in the LT1 for an LS1?
Like already mentioned, it depends on what you are looking for in a car. Sure, LS1 would be newer, but unless you find a very good deal on it, you might have to settle with one with more miles than you have on your LT1 now. Depending on the market in your area, of course.
Not that the miles really matter that much as long as the car has otherwise been taken care of properly.
Here's an idea: Keep the LT1 AND buy LS1. Now that's a winner!
Good luck!
