Re: Shorty Antenna

I put a short rubber antenna on my car but it requiered using a die on the antenna base stud to make it fit the aftermarket antennas. I think I used an 8mmx1.0 or 1.25 pitch thread. PITA to do it on the car. I tried to tap out the rubber antenna base the 1st time and ruined it because there isn't enough metal in those things to tap to the size needed. Radio reception isn't as good but I mostly listen to CDs anyway.

Re: Shorty Antenna

You could always just cut the stock one to be even with the roof line. That's what I did, looks fine, costs nothing. If you want the ball on the end, you can just cut that off and JB Weld it back on. Little bit of black paint, and you save $30.00.

Re: Shorty Antenna

Here is a picture of my black one from SS Inserts. They are a very good quality antenna abd I like mine just fine.
