Safe to remove tunnel brace?

I don't have subframe connectors or anything yet. I plan to go true duals with my LT's when I get around to installing them(hopefully soon). Anyway is it safe to remove the tunnel brace so I can have some extra clearance when installing the pipes? The car has been converted to T-tops if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Mine's been off for... a long time. No issues, though I am putting in a spohn TA that mounts there sometime soon

Took mine off too... doesn't work with a 4" exhaust :D

Ever seen a car pole vault from snapping the front u-joint from all the tourqe our cars put out ? I did along time ago at a local dragstrip, wasn't pretty..if your gonna take it off I highly recomend a driveshaft catch ! or stop doing hole shots..like thats gonna happen...LOL

After installing my exhaust I put it back on but I put a few washers under each bolt so the brace sits a bit lower and clears the exhaust clamp.

Only time mine came in handy was when I ran over a truck tire re-tread and it scuffed up the underbody of the car, IMO without the brace to protect that first clamp I may have lost my exhaust.

My hooker y pipe came with some heavy duty spacers and some bigger bolts to use with their y pipe.

I just bent the stock one....:D

Mine's been off for awhile. I have a Jegs DS loop and true duals, so not only was it unnecessary, it didn't fit! :)

Or a 4" exhaust which physically prevents the driveshaft from dropping down :D

Well I wouldn't want to rely on a exhaust pipe to stop my driveshaft from wrecking my car but to each his own:D
