Rusted Jet Hots
I installed my Jet Hot headers right after christmas and now the driver's side one is completely rusted on the collector. Not on the any of the primaries or on the Y-pipe at all, and not at all on the passenger side header. It is rusted just like it was bare metal! Has anyone else had problems with their Jet Hot coating? This makes me wish I would have just gotten stainless.

Join the club. My Pacesetters started rusting when I put mine away for winter storage. I quickly cleaned the rust off and sprayed wd-40 all over and that stopped it. Makes one hell of a stink/smoke when you first start it though.. I always thought the ceramic coating was suppose to stop it from rusting. My y-pipe and catback are like the day I put it away.

Re: Rusted Jet Hots
I had something similar happen with the y-pipe on my Edelbrock headers on my 88 IROC. From what I determined, the y-pipe was actually pressed up against part of the engine cradle and was "banging" against it at certain rpms causing it to slowly cause the coating to "flake" off. The vibration did cause it to start to come off further up stream almost to the collector. It looked pretty bad, but I don't think my case was because of bad coating...just that it was vibrating off. I never did send it back cause it was my daily driver and I couldn't have the car down that long. Just my two cents anyway.

Jet-Hot will re-coat headers with their coating for the first two years at no charge...the down side to that is the fact that the vehicle will obviously be inop for that period of time. Still worth it though in my opinion.
