Right Turn Signal won't flash...
Right Turn Signal won't flash...
Okay after being delayed for a bit, I finally changed the bulb on my front passenger side by pulling out the whole amber light assembly (drivers light, turnsignal, and harness...) Okay... well I get back in the car and test it out, I throw my right turn signal on. No flash from the interior, I check outside and to my surprise, both my rear and front right turn signals simply wern't coming on! Well I threw my fourways on, they worked perfectly fine, even the new bulb I just put in. So I try my left turn signal, works fine on the front and rear! So I take my car out and prepare to make my first right turn and out of habit, flipped the switch... The right turn signal came on and blinked just fine?!?!
Well I got into a parking lot and tested it again by turning my right turn signal on, they worked fine front and back. So as soon as I leave the parking lot I decide to make a right turn, flip the switch... and boom... no turn signal... the light just stays solid and the front and rear right turn signals just arn't coming on... period... they don't stay solid or not flash... they just plain don't come on at all. I test my left turn signal. Peachy Keen! I test my four ways... all four turn signals worked fine. I test my right turn signal again, no go! Whats the deal with this?
My four ways always works
My left turn signal always works
My right turn signal decides to become liberal and picky and won't work period sometimes and works perfectly fine others!
I MUST fix this soon because I can't even manually flash them because the bulbs just plain won't light up.
If it were my grounds then wouldn't my fourways also not work correctly? If it IS my grounds I need to check, where are they?
thanks for any info guys.

Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
There is a connector attached near the base of the steering column. Make sure it is pushed together from end to end. While you are under there, you might want to change your turn signal flasher.

Update... Every connector under the dash was tight as can be. Now the right turn signals, front and rear plain won't come on at all, even when I try the fourways. What on earth could be the deal? I tried new bulbs but no go. If you say check the grounds and connections, PLEASE be kind enough to inform me WHERE THEY ARE!
Thanks...

Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
If your right brake light works but your right turn signle doesnt, id be checking your brake switch for the problem. This is if you know it's not a problem with the wiring or the bulb itself. Sounds wierd but check a wiring diagram of a brake switch sometime, you'll see the turn single runs right through it. double check the bulb # you put in, because others will fit in the same socket but have diffrent resistances internally.

Okay now this is becoming plain Bizare!.. The Signals still just come and go whenever they please. This time I turned the Hazards on and now the REAR right turn signal isn't flashing but the front one is... After that I turned the right turn signal on and neither the rear or front are lighting up... Whats up with this?!.. Anyone got any ideas as to how I could finally end this misery?
Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
This is REALLY tee'ing me off, just after I made the last post I went outside to double check. Well I turned the fourways on and now ALL MY RIGHT SIGNALS ARE WORKING FINE!!! Whats up with this?! Am I low on blinker fluid or something?
Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
Okay, after quite a bit of screwing around between the 4-Ways and the Right Turn Signal, I realised when one doesn't work, the other doesn't work either. Also I found out the Front Right signal is fine, the one with the bulb I just changed is working just as it normally should only it stays SOLID when the Signal stays solid, it's my REAR signal thats gone haywire
THIS is EXACTLY what is happening...
1st Try...
4-Ways
Left Front Signal - Okay
Left Rear Signal - Okay
Right Front Signal - Okay
Right Rear Signal - Okay
Right Turn Signal
Right Front Signal - Okay
Right Rear Signal - Okay
This is when I made the post above. Then I went to check again and to my surprise...
2nd Try...
4-Ways
Left Front Signal - Okay
Left Rear Signal - Okay
Right Front Signal - Okay
Right Rear Signal - Dead... Simply dead.... (Note that the car wasn't even STARTED to perform this test between the last test...)
Right Turn Signal
Right Front Signal - Lit but solid
Right Rear Signal - Dead...
What could be causing this and WHERE?! My guess was maybee the bulb's going bad in the rear???
Help would be great because I'm tired of using hand signals and merging into traffic without a signal.

Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
never
Tell me what you come up with... Oh yes btw, the driving lights, break lights, fog lamps are all just fine... I need to replace a bulb in my right reverse lamp though, I havn't gotten around to it though.
In the meantime, are there ANY connections that I need to look up? Just for good measure when I replaced the Front Turn Signal, could I have tugged something loose from the source that could be causing this? I took the whole assembly out by...mistake really, instead of just the bad bulb. I let the bulbs just hang down by their wires for alittle while till I was able to get things in order. Where do those connecting wires lead and is it someplace that could be loose?
Also I'm guessing to replace the sockets, I'm going to have to cut the old one off and splice the new one on arn't I?...
I've never been to good with electricity, it has never worked in my best interests, not even those kiddie battery experiments.

On mine its always only the farther right of the two in the rear that just goes totally dead, Not a parking lamp not a brake light, just dead. When your right blinker goes bad does your blinker arrow on teh dash just come on and stay on? I didnt look at my front one but im guessing its coming on and staying on. Its pretty much the exact same problem your having. I replaced all the rear bulbs with sylvania long life bulbs in back like a month or two ago. I tryd pulling the tailight downa nd jiggling all the wires in that whole area and by the trunk popper for good measure and nothing. I had the right signal on when i did this and no change. Then i turn the ignition off screw the tailight in and sure enough working perfect. Im tihnking maybe its the socket now. Gonna try some dielectric grease on the bulb. Prolly take a voltage meter to it and see if im getting power to the wires and its not making it to the bulb or what.

Re: Right Turn Signal won't flash...
I had the same problem with my left blinker. I fixed it this past weekend...but don't ask me how.
I checked and saw that my left front running light bulb was out so I replaced that - still didn't fix the problem. Front checks good - off to the rear...
I took out the tail light assembly and all of the bulbs were lit. One, however, was about half as bright as the rest, so I replaced that one - STILL no good. After that, I took out the right side tail light assembly and compared all bulbs. It turns out that the new bulb is alot BRIGHTER than the rest of the bulbs. I then just started randomly interchanging the bulbs from the rear and was somehow left with one used bulb out...which means I put in both new bulbs and lost an old one... Where did it go?
BUT...IT WORKED!!
