Repair/Replace A/C System

Going to put A/C back in the car. The system would leak freon before I did the motor swap, but I need to put A/C back together. Without testing parts what would would you just buy new to rebuild your system?

Re: Repair/Replace A/C System

Never had it tested, but I suspected that the compressor was leaking before I pulled everything off. I guess I could put it all back together and see where it leaks.

Re: Repair/Replace A/C System

I am putting together my AC system again.
I was able to pull the compressor out from the bottom.
My compressor is leaking from the joints in the body sections. Before buying a new one I am re-sealing it with a kit that contains the o-rings and shaft seal.

Re: Repair/Replace A/C System

Thanks for the help. I will probably put it back together and check the system for leaks.

Re: Repair/Replace A/C System

Finished the reseal process of my compressor, installed it, pulled vacuum and charged it.
All is good now. Cold air in my face again!

Very satisfied with results.
The reseal kit was worth about $22 from centuryautoair in Tucson.
They have a video up in youtube that walks you thru the reseal process of a similar compressor.
