Removing driver side air bag - Had some questions
I have a 94 z28. I plan to install my new steering wheel tomorrow. As far as removing the drivers side air bag. I disconnect the battery for 30min, pull the airbag fuse. Unscrew the the 4 bolts behind the wheel then I cut the wire attached to the air bag which I think it's a yellow wire correct??? Just want to make sure cause I would hate for this air bag to deploy. I read somewhere that you disconnect something underneath the dash also? If so what and what color would that wire be. - Mike

If you have not done so already, you are safe to just unplug the air bag. I took mine out recently and disconnected the air bag at the bottom of the steering column first. Then there are the air bag sensors you can pull - if you are ditching both. One under the center consoler, and one under the glove box / HVAC area. I think there is a third like the one under the console that is located under the steering coumn where all those boxes and wires are. I'll toy with that this weekend.

You got it pretty much right. I didn't pull the fuse when I changed my steering wheel, just let the car sit for 1/2 hour with the barrery disconnected, then removed the airbag and cut the yellow wire.
The wire under the dash is to deactivate the airbag light in the instrument panel that will come on after you remove the airbag. Locate the wire connector behind(or under, I forget which) the glove compartment. There will be some letters/numbers molded into the plastic (might have been B1?) and a brown wire going into the connector at that position. That is the wire for the airbag light.
