removing ac questions

Ok so yesterday I started to take out my AC system and I was able to successfully remove the condenser and the evaporater/radiator core. How in the hell am I supossed to remove the compressor unit without completely fuggen up my serpentine belt driveline, also going into the car on the passenger side firewall there are two input/output shafts. One was for the AC, I am guessing the other is heat since it's going to/coming from the Radiator. How should I block that line, and it also has a sensor on it, what should I do with that?

THanks

i did mine a while ago, the ac compressor should come right out with ease, mine did. the lines you are talkign about they shouldnt be connected to the radiator. Maybe the condenser. There were no sensors when i removed mine. the two holes in the box on the firewall i left open because i had nothing to plug them with, no probs yet,

Im the only person who has attempted to take out the A/C compressor and failed

1. I couldnt get the intake/return lines that go into the compressor out

2. The compressor itself wouldnt come down, I couldnt work it out of the engine compartment, I am guess its because I couldnt get the other lines out

Someone suggested taking off the fans from the radiator which I might try next time

when you took out the compressor, did you have to get a new serpentine belt?

alright, update on mine (not to hijack your thread), but I drove it up on the ramps again, took out the radiator assembly (2 wire connections then push up)

then I got the bolts on the comp., slide it forward and up, then once it was vertical I could slide it down. I got the AC lines after the comp.

since I knew what I was doing this time it only took me 30 mins start to finish.

I used the GM 1LE delete bracket and the current belt works just fine to answer your question

yes the 1le pulley is required for ac removal. And it uses the stock belt.

Somewhere between "0" and "none". It's done for weight reduction - 50-60# savings depending on the extent of the surgery. Also opens up the engine compartment a bit.

The metal lines went to the A/C evaporator, the rubber lines went to the heater core. How much, exactly did you remove from the heater box? If you removed the heater core, you can just connect the rubber supply and return lines together at some point. If you removed the evaporator, and the hard lines for the A/C, you have nothing to "block".

I had a problem taking out my compressor. The bolt that held the lines in place would not come out so I cut the lines and managed to wiggle the compressor out.

welps, looks like i'm gonna be having more fun this weekend with the car. It should be all good when it's all done. i'm also going to eliminate the ASR module and put a straight through on it, like non-ASR equipped cars, i hope it works!

thanks a ton for the help guys

I have disconnected one of the metal lines and wasn't sure if i should plug it so I did anyways, also I blocked one of the lines coming from the compressor as well, just as a safety measure.
