rear window defroster problem

rear window defroster problem

Rear window defroster button lights up first time, after a few minutes windows start to defrost then just stop. i push the button again and all i here is the button clickno light and window will not finish defrosting. any ideas on wat i need to fix?

Replace the 30 amp circuit breaker with a 30 amp FUSE.

If I remember right the rear defroster is on a timer. It only stays on for a while. Once it shuts off you also can't move your seat (must be on the same circuit). Maybe it gets too cold in your area to defrost before it shuts off?

it works for awhile then shuts off and wont come back on, im gonna check the fuse tonight.

It is on a circuit breaker (yes, the seat is on the same breaker). If you do what moparman said, it usually takes care of it.

just wanted too update this... bad advice on the 30 amp fuse come too find out one day it had melted all the area surrounding the fuse couldve been bad had i not looked. so just wanted to say dont do this get the original fuse.

All situations are not equal. Mine has had a fuse for 8 years or more. I don't really use mine much, though. You can tell that the fuse does get hot.

Best idea would be to have the circuit and grid repaired if it does not work properly with the original circuit breaker.

ya mine melted and i wasn't even using it.. its hot out..lol but itll get fixed so im not stressin anymore

If the fuse melted and you weren't even using it, then that would be a problem that needs repair.
