rear view mirror lights make a noise
when you open the door to get in the car, the lights on the rear view mirror turn on (like normal), but as they dim and shut off again after a bit, it makes a buzzing noise. This is from the mirror, i put my ear up to it and I am sure of it. What is in the mirror that'll buzz? and is it fixable, or do I have to replace the mirror itself? I dont think the bulbs themselves can buzz?
so yeah, I assume nobody knows. I looked @ the mirror last night, tried to see if there are electronic components, but I really could not tell. Can i pull it apart without breaking it? I might as well invest in a new mirror. I assume I'd have to pop off the current mirror and reattach it with some of that glue they sell in the auto parts store, unless there's a simpler method that any1 knows of.
There should be an allen head screw that secures the mirror to the mount.
The mount is what is glued to the windshield.
No idea how the wiring disconnects, though , or how easy or hard it is to disassemble the mirror.
I can't imagine what would cause the lights to buzz - if you heard it somewhere in the car, it would ( to me ) make more sense as perhaps the BCM was acting up.
I don't have my car here today to look at - is there anything in the owner's manual about what light bulbs are in there, and how to replace them ?

In other words, don't worry about it. What are you doing in the car so long after you turn it off anyway?
