Rear glass weatherstripping question ????

My girlfriend has a 95 Z28 and her rear hatch glass weatherstripping (on the outside of the glass is all nasty and coming off . I have seen this problem on many F-Bodys but have never heard of a way to get rid of it . Is there any tips or advice to get rid of this problem ? Thanks in advance

Remove old piece and clean up glass and area. Buy a new piece and install it. P/n used to be 10433037, but it might have changed.

Just did this and the new one piece looks awesome...don't know why GM did not do this to begin with.

I found this to be a very messy and difficult job. The black silicone got all over the place and I had trouble getting the stripping to stick. Did you install it with the hatch still attached or did you take the hatch off?

Hmm...I remember it being just the opposite. The new piece was very easy to put on and already had the adhesive applied to it. The only messy part was removing the old goop. No reason to remove the hatch. We are referring only to the rubber "lace" that fits on the edge of the glass. It's only a beauty part and not the window seal to the hatch.
