how can i tell if a car is a real SS or a clone?

If you search any F-body site you'll find almost as many threads that discuss this as there are real SS, WS6, and Firehawk cars. In 1998, there were officially more threads asking about "real" IROC camaros than IROC cars produced... the number for SS clone threads will exceed the production numbers of all SS cars later this year (estimated and not including 1st gen SS clone threads).

Now to provide the answer... take down the VIN and call SLP- visit http://www.slponline.com/ to find their number. They will tell you if it's real and it's build number which will help you start conversations at Camaro gatherings.
