(Moved to the correct forum).

Anniversary cars were like this:

ALL Camaros made in an Anniversary year can be considered "Anniversary" Camaros as indicated by the badges, specal stitching/trim/etc...

HOWEVER...

Anniversary EDITION Camaros were different. In 1997, Anniversary EDITION Camaros were white with orange rally stripes, white interior, etc. like you said...a TRUE Anniversary Camaro. Since your car is black, you don't have a true Anniversary EDITION Camaro, but it was made during an Anniversary year.

Re: Real or not?

As Jason said, you can call all '97s anniversary cars - because they were all made in the 30th anniversary year - and some people like to do that. Seeing that my car (like yours) is just a Black '97 Z28 (nothing special), I don't go around calling it an anniversary car just because it has "30" stitched on the headrests. Our cars don't look like this...

Yeah!

And I've found that people notice the seats too. I swear, though, that I always explain that my car is not a 30th anniversary car.

I think the '97 is the only 4th gen that is unique and truly identifiable from the other years. Of course, only fellow Camaro guys know that the newer three-colour taillights and newer interior combined with the old-style front end peg the car as a '97.

COOL! Does that mean my car is a 97!

My car matches that description.

Re: Real or not?

Thanx. I wasn't quite thinking that when I was in the middle of it. Seemed like it would never get done.
