Rattlling noise?? Any ideas>>>
Rattlling noise?? Any ideas>>>
starting hearing a rattling noise when I was driving the other day. It sound like the fan was hitting something at first but upon closer inspection it sounds like it is coming from inside the motor. I pulled the valve cover to inpsect the rockers and springs and everything looks okay. Any ideas???? this is what I know so far:
there appears to be no difference in driveabilty. Same power as always and no hesistation. If not for the annoying noise you would never know anything was wrong.
only makes the noise up to about 1800 RPM...after that you can't hear it anymore
suggestions anyone????

I recall the AC compressor made a rattling noise before it died on me on my Beretta, so maybe it might be that. Try turning on the compressor and off to see if there is any diff in sound....
Re: Rattlling noise?? Any ideas>>>
I had a rattling noise occur primarily when starting to reverse and upon accelerating from a stop. I found out what it was after I got a busted head gasket.....it was a broken head bolt; one of several that holds down the head. Resleeved the hole and replaced the bolt. I hope this isn't your problem though. $
Have you been able to isolate its location?
