Question Quick question about taking the Hood off

Hey guys, this might be a stupid question, but I’d rather be safe than sorry.
I’m going to be replacing my hood with an SS hood, and need to know if there is anything special to keep in mind when taking the existing hood off.

The 4 torx bolts by the hinges are simple enough, but what about the two struts/shocks.

It looks like there is a little metal C-clamp near the end that contacts the hood. Do you just pop that off and then tap the strut off? Is the strut under pressure? Does it want to spring off, or does it just stay put.

Thanks for the help.

On my 95 all I had to do was pry on the clip a little and the the struts pop right off. They are not under pressure when the are extended only when they are compressed.

Yup, just remove the little clips, don't loose them..

Re: Quick question about taking the Hood off

No need to do all of that. Simply un-bolt the brackets from each side of the hood, take the hood off, then put the new hood on.
