The project begins.
The project begins.
I will give ya guys a little rundown of my car before I begin.
It's a 1994 Z28 hardtop with all options.
The engine had a bad leak from the rear main and the oil pan. So instead of repairing what was broken I decided I would rebuild the engine and get a better clutch and then purchase a ford 9".
Well I have been debating for sometime which engine to go to, the 383 or the 355. Well after long months of thinking over and over and over and, well you get the point. I decided to go with the 355 with all forged internals, ported heads and cam package by lloyd elliot and all the other fancy crap that no one really needs, but wants. I am hoping to do 400rwhp N/A with this motor and a little more on the spray.
I pulled the motor/trans out last weekend. I now have the block on a stand with the heads attached. I plan on removing them this weekend along with the pistons etc and hopefully be able to send the block off to a machine shop to get the machine work done.
I am going to purchase the forged summit rebuild kit along with a scat 9000 crank and eagle rods. I will be doing the rebuild myself so that should save me some cash, and hopefully only take a month or so depending on funds.
So hopefully by summer I can get you guys some numbers of what I am putting down on the dyno.

Heh, I dont necesarilly have the money. When I have a little cash left over from work I spend it immediatly on car parts so over time I have enough parts to do what I want to. Plus the summit kit is great for a cheap rebuild.
