Problem during hard accelaration

Yesterday I noticed something strange with my car. If I accelarate gently from a stop, or mash the gas after the car had started moving, everything is normal. But if I accelarate hard from a stop, I get weird sounds from the rear-end. It almost sounds like rocks are hitting the rear of the car, and it also won't burn any rubber (the tires feel like they are just hoping, its really very hard to describe).
Any idea what might be going on? I will be taking the car to the stealership, but I want to make sure that they don't do more than is needed. Money is very tight right now.

Something could have went wrong in your rear suspension. I know that when people lower their cars and things like that they can have a problem with wheel hop. I don't know if something could be wrong with the rear end but I would jack the rear up and check out the suspension. Like lower control arms, torque arm, springs shocks, just see if anything looks "off".
