power window

My driver side window has been acting funny.. When I press the switch up or down it will go for about 1/2 a second then stop and if I press it again right after I do this it will not go at all. If I let it rest and try pressing it about 30 seconds later it will go once again for about 1/2 a second. My window always used to go about regular speed, I never really noticed it slowing down before it started doing this. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how much $$ to fix it?

Re: power window

Definately the Power Window motor. I replaced mine with one from AutoZone for $50 and a lifetime warranty. Theres a online walk through somewhere (I think shoebox has one on his site), but basically just drill out the rivets and swap them. Its about a 30-45 minute job.
Tip: Where long sleeves, because the fiberglass itches like a **** when it gets on your skin.

Re: power window

OK so I need a drill to replace it. What else do I need? All I have is screwdrivers, wrenches, and socket tools.

Re: power window

Mine did the same thing and it was the window motor. Its not that bad of a job, just make sure you take your time. Also, becareful with the rollers, one of mine was in bad shape and of course, gm does not just sell the rollers
