Power Seats

Hi. A buddy of mine bought a set of leather seats for his 98 Z28 and they appear to have come from a T/A, unknown year. The new front seat is a power seat but his old ones were not. What would be required for us to hook these up? Thanks.

I believe you just need a power and ground. On my power seat, its just a two wire connection that goes under the carpet. No sure where you could tap into for power, but you should be able to find an existing grounding bolt somewhere along the bundle of wires that goes along the side of the driver's seat. Good luck.

I believe all 4th gens came with the wiring for power seats whether they were equipped or not. When you take the driver's seat out you should find the power seat connector sitting there under the carpet ready to hookup.

Re: Power Seats

For some reason I seem to think I saw the pigtail for the power seats and a slit in the carpet on my old 96. I could just be imagining it though.
