Powder coating K-Member???

Anyone ever done this? I have the motor out and want to pull the k-member out and have it powder coated black... is this possible and any suggestions? I have a place locally that can do it so shipping isnt going to happen

Why not get a tubular one that is already powdercoated?

Cause I want to use the stock k-member. The car is going to be a street car and I am going to take it on long trips, and I have been highly recommended against the tubular... that and $ is a factor right now.

You'll follow the same procedure as for dropping the engine out the bottom, but there will no engine. Links for dropping the engine are posted all the time. A search should find you some.

I know that... I just wondered if there needed to be anything specific that needed to be taken off that could be damaged by the heat? (I understand the obvious things...) but something that might not be so obvious?
