What would happen if you pluged your tail pipes so the cut-out was used 100%?

The exhaust is going to take the path of least resistance...what's the point in plugging the tailpipes?

Re: Plug exhaust to use cut-out 100%???

(Stock exhaust) With the cut-out BEFORE the pipes, I would think the exhaust exiting in the cut-out would be more effeciant than the exhasut going throught the cut-out and the rest through the tai pipes?

Am I making sense?

No, it will be less power....based on one above response. Don't feel like giving a longer answer...it will sound different though.

Mufflers - of any kind are more restrictive than an open exhaust port.

I doubt there is any preassure coming out the tailpipes with a cutout open.

Re: Plug exhaust to use cut-out 100%???

with the cutout open now, your exhaust has 2 holes to go out of. 1- your cutout. 2- through your muffler. If you bottle up the rest of your exhaust piping, then the gasses only have 1 hole to go out of, your cutout. This means it would be more restrictive = less HP.
