plastic piece around shift boot part#????

plastic piece around shift boot part#????

so when i replaced my shifter with a pro 5.0 i broke the little plastic piece that holds the shift boot to the center console does anyone have the part # for this.. also i saw somone on ebay that had one for sale, but it said 98-2002 trans am my car is a 96 trans am will this work? i didnt think there wasnt a difference in the shift boots by different years who knows?? thanx in advance

You can make your own out of welding wire. I made a few 97+'s for me and my buddy. I got the idea from a guy on LS1tech. He was making them and selling them for $18 shipped. I believe he has them for all 4th gens. Do a search over there, I believe his name was Farmer2 or something like that.
