park/neutral switch not working?

95 formula

whenever the car is running it appears that the park/neutral switch doesnt work

in datamaster it always shows up as 1 (in drive) no matter what its at.

it also runs off the drive idle table too, never the neutral one

is there a switch somewhere that could be faulty?

thanks

If the switch is stuck in Drive, how can it even start? None of my cars will start if the gear selector is in D.

If it is a 6 speed, it does not seem that the p/n switch indication would even be relevant.
