It would be awfully ironic that BOTH fans go bad at the same time. I would check the relay first. If you still want the part #'s for the fans I will look them up for you when I get home from work.

yeah thats what i was thinking. I know the secondary fan was dieing because i would run the a/c and the fan wouldnt move, i would then slightly tap it and it would spin then stop again. So i am pretty sure the secondary fan motor is dead. As far as the primary one..well, i have no idea where the relay is any ideas? I just stopped working about a week ago. damn electric fans...

Most fan motors, you can pick up a your local parts store; around 30-50 dollars... If you need the GM #s, check Shoebox's website first... If its not there post up and I'll look....

who is shoebox?..lol yeah i figured the local autozone would have them just seein if i could get them for any cheaper of GM parts direct.com

Does this happen often? I mean Both of my fans are gone at 76k miles I tapped the main fan and nothing. It didnt even spin. The trouble code on my ses light is that electric fan motor is dead. But its been on for awhile. My secondary fan died in august, and my car was still running about 160*. Now this thing is runnen hot as a bastard. 210+*

Any ideas? Does it sound like just bad fans? Or is it the relay??

I would guess first the relay or possibly bad temp sensor for the computer. located in front, not on the side of the head..... You could run a hot wire to the fan and see if it works.....

Couldn't be anything other than what's been listed already.

Just updated my part list with fan motor info including 1998 (see link in sig).

I would try to do some isolation testing to see if it is really the fan before going to the expense and trouble to replace it.

Thanks alot guys i appreciate it. I am going to do more testing 2 morrow but i am pretty sure that the fans are just dead. When looking at the volt guage its normal. All lights are normal no power drain that would be concistant with a shortage or anything. I think it just **** the bed. and thanks shoebox for the correct #. So the fan would fit in both locations? 1996-2002 (C60) cooling fan motor
(only listing is RH, but seems it should work for LH, too)

I don't see why the LH and RH motors would be different, but the parts book only listed the RH. Sometimes there are little quirks in the parts book.
