For starters, this isnt a tech question.
but what the hell, heres my thoughts about the five ohh mustang, before this gets moved.
5.0's sound 10x better in my opinion.
the aftermarket is almost unlimited.
the cars them selves are cheaper.
it will take heads/cam on a stock stroke NA motor to touch 300rwhp
the cars dont have a very aggressive look to them, kinda like a dodge shadow
they are a lot easier to work on.
just my opinions on the subject.

Well 5.0's are very cheap and have alot of aftermarket parts avaliavble and they are easy to work on BUT... they are not fast. They need heads, intake, and cam with all bolt ons to run low 13's high 12. So you would need ALOT of parts to make a 5.0 run what a stock ls1 does. Also 5.0's are getting old now and will have alot more miles so you will probably have to do alot of repairs more often. I would go with the LS1 if i were you. I have put the hurt on a bunch of heads cam intake bolt ons 5.0 and i only have exhaust.

if you want a fast car, buy an LS1. If you want a fast car and on a budget, buy an LS1. If you want a car thats reliable buy an LS1. If you want a car that sounds good and breezes through only inferior 4cyl's then go 5.0L. I'd love to have an 5.slow mustank for a DD and to throw a sledge hammer at if i'm mad.

Maybe re-word it a bit. If you want a faster ENTRY-level car, get a 4th gen F-body. It depends on where you're at in the mod game. I'd bet money that there are a lot more 7 second 1980's and 90's Mustangs than there are F-bodies.
