Was in the same boat a couple of months ago when I needed the gaskets for the impy. Don't remember which brand sealant I used, but it's doing fine so far.

The Right Stuff here. It does specify it is OK for water pumps and you can place the item in service right away. I just didn't want to wait for gasket silicone to cure for 24 hours. I want to complete the job and find out what I did wrong right away

You can always make a gasket out of a cereal box.

No he's not kidding!! Thin cardboard like a cereal box has, is almost the exact thickness of the original "paper" water pump gaskets.
How many on here remember using your girl friends or wife nylons as an emergency fan belt??

Well, that's one way to get the nylons off. Were you busy cutting through 90% of your fan belt on Saturday night?

But don't cereal boxes have a wax coating? Freaks me out, the thought of all that disassembly/assembly and using a cereal box as a gasket.

Dead serious. It is a bit shade tree, but works. A thin film of RTV on both sides will make it a bit better.
I am not advocating this for your normal situation, just if you are in a real bind for a gasket.
