normal operating temp?

I just picked up a used 99 Z28 and the needle on the temp gauge seems to stay just a hair below the 210 mark while moving down the road or stopped in traffic. Is this normal?

Anywhere around the 210 mark is fine. Mine sites right on it all the time.

Re: normal operating temp?

99 is the first year of the dummy temp guage. it basically reads the same temperature on the guage even if the collant is +/- 25deg

it's lame.

but where you say it reads is normal

Re: normal operating temp?

While driving my car reads 160+* and while parked in traffic it will shoot up to like you said hair below 210*.
