New to Z28

Hey guys,

I'm a brand new Z28er (without a car yet though)... Looking for a 4th gen...

So I've been looking around all over the US for the last 2 weeks. Here goes my first question...

I'm seeing a lot of people replacing clutches with cars around 50 - 70k. I'm wondering if that's normal wear and tear or if all of those cars that had their clutches replaced were actually raced...

I replaced my original stock clutch at 205,000km (~125K miles). Almost all of those miles were with the stock motor, with occasional racing on street tires. It wasn't until the 383 went in and I started racing more often (with better tires) that the original clutch started slipping - and even then it was only doing that at the track.

I think driving habits have alot to do with it. Some people can get almost a 100K on a stock clutch, others far less. For those that like to frequently ride the clutch, they are going to wear it out alot faster.

My stock clutch was releasing "high on the pedal" at around 40K miles. The clutch was not abused either.
