how much do you think it would cost to get a new paint job on a 1991 camaro rs, it needs to be stripped to just a shell and have all the old paint removed and then completely redone, and im wanting to go black any ideas of how much money i would be looking at ?

 

it's not cheap. it depends on where you live. i live in a tiny little town in Wisconsin and there's only two shops in town. one wanted $1,500, the other $1,700. in bigger cities it's not uncommon to be around $5,000. it also depends on the type and brand of paint. your best bet is to go around and get estimates.

i got a car of mine repainted this fall at a local tech school. they removed all the bumpers and whatnot and sanded it down and put new paint on. since they're a school, they can't charge for labor. with the paint and other materials it was $620. that was with just black and white paint and a clear coat.

don't expect it to be cheap though unless you can do some of the work yourself. good luck.
