new battery went dead

I put a new battery in my camaro a few weeks ago and today the battery was totally dead and the lights in the car didnt even come on. The last time I drove it there wasnt any problem starting it and the battery didnt seem low. I already had the alternator tested at autozone and they said it was good. What could cause the battery to go totally dead like this.

A parasitic drain can discharge the battery. Do you get 13+v when the engine is running?

I left my map light(rear view mirror) on once... Aftermarket radio w/amp wired direct??? Bad connections???? Corrosion??? etc...

At battery, engine running should be around 13.8~14.2 volts....

Last time I drove it the reading on the battery gauge was in the middle. I dont think I left any lights on in the car last time but I will double check and I will check the battery connections. It has a sony radio and the stock bose sound system but I dont think that would drain the battery.

I just discovered that the center console light had been on all the time because the thing had gotten pushed down into the center console. So that must be what had drained my battery.
