New Alternator choices

I have a 94 T/A that has about 168,000 miles. It's my daily commuter and I'd like to stay ahead of any problems with a little bit of preventative maintence. My voltage indicator will move up and down with the lights on, but nothing below 12 volts. What's the average lifespan of a F-body's alternator? Is there anything better than buying a stock alternator? I don't race the car anymore, but I would still like to buy a quailty alternator. Thanks.

Getting borderline. I would just buy a new (not rebuilt) 105 amp A/C Delco.

Question Re: New Alternator choices

Hmmm...I'm interested in knowing the average life span of an LT1 F-body alternator too (mine still works good at 111,000+ knock on wood!) and the good alternatives for them if ever need be?

Thanks,

Mike

No set life span for a auto part. Anything mechancical will break at one time in its life. Short or long who knows, just watch for any indications that a part is going bad. Just remenber anything mechancial does not fix itself.
