Need some A/C help
Need some A/C help
My roommate's A/C compressor locked up on his 95 T/A so he bought a new compressor, expansion valve, and condenser, and took it to a shop for them to replace it. They replaced the compressor and expansion valve, but said the condenser wasn't the right one, so they just kept the old one on there.
Well, it had semi cold air right at first, but it never worked right and was blowing hot air the rest of the time. So he took it back, and after 5 days, they finally told him that they can't fix it. They thought it was a bad high/low pressure switch, so they replaced that but it didn't help. Now they are saying that there is no power from the ECM to the compressor. Does the ECM even control the A/C? Either way, what should we look for?
Thanks.

Re: Need some A/C help
I had the same problem, had hot air blowing and I replaced the A/C compressor. turns out the relay in the engine compartment fuse box was not making good enough contact to make the compressor turn on, the dealer cleaned the terminals on the relay and straightend them and now it works. Try that.
Re: Need some A/C help
why would you need to replace the condensor?
The shop has no idea whats going on and didn't do the repair right. This is there fault and they need to correct it themsleves or pay for another shop to correct it.
