Need simple wiring help for DMH cutout

All I need to know is where I should tap into for the 12v source. I did a search and came up with the cigar lighter, but I've already tried that and keep blowing fuses.

Any ideas before I just pick something else?

Thanks

I put a spade connector on mine and ran it straight to the fuse block by the drivers door. There was an empty spot in there, and I plugged it right in. Probably would be smart for you to put an inline fuse in it, though.

I wired mine to the radio fuse inside the car because QTP recommends using a "switched" source for power. For ground I tapped into the black wire off the cig lighter.

Yeah, tap into the fuse block. There are 3 different places. one for always on. one for acc on. and I think one for ignition on. Something like that. And for the ground, just ground it to a screw or something.
