Exclamation Need Exhaust/Muffler Help

I have an American Thunder flowmaster 2.5" dual rear exhaust which has not yet been installed. I currently have on my car a 40 series flowmaster muffler that sounds awesome. Except it has a single inlet/outlet and I didn't realize until I looked at the instructions that the exhaust setup requires the muffler (it came with an 80 series w/ single inlet dual outlet) to be put sideways so that the left tailpipe can be slipped into the left side outlet, the right tailpipe into the right side outlet and the over-axle pipe to be slipped into the right side inlet which is right next to the right side outlet. The 40 series only has a single inlet/outlet. And I don't like the way the 80 series sounds. Is there any way that an exhaust shop can get the system work with the 40 series muffler? I can scan the picture of the assembly if needed.

Or do I have to send it back to SummitRacing and just get a custom exhaust from the shop (I know a good exhaust guy)?? I feel really stupid like I should have just got a custom job in the first place, seeing as how I already have my muffler.

I think it could be done, but if it was me I would just send it back and get a custom one made.

Woa, thanks for the quick reply...So you think I might save money by sending it back and going custom? I thought about that too. I kind of wanted to go 2.75" or a full 3" anyways. The whole thing cost me $265. I'd imagine it'd be cheaper at the shop...I just may do that.
