Is my waterpump going?

I have been noticing a puddle of anti freeze under my car recently. I got under there to see where it was coming from, and sure enough its coming from the water pump.

Its coming out of a little hole on the bottom of the water pump. I am guessing its time for a new water pump?

Also be real careful that it's not dripping onto the Opti-spark

The 93-95 had moisture issues when water got near the Opti-spark. specifically water pump failures brought this to light

So hopefully you caught it in time and don't have any Opti issues

While you have the WP off, you might as well crack open the opti and have a look inside. If there is any moisture, or the cap is soaked pretty bad, replace it. You will kick yourself later if you don't.

I went with a stock WP when mine went out, I have a 160* stat, and a PCMforless tune, and have absolutely no cooling problems. Never goes over 170. So for what it's worth, the stocker works just fine, but if you're looking to free up some horses go for it, I've heard a lot of good things about EWPs.

The only reason I would go to an electric WP is to eliminate the potential hazard of the original one destroying my opti.
