Is my TA missing something on the shifter? (Auto)

I have a 2000 Auto TA and it looks like i am missing something that goes over the button you press in to move the shifter. It is just a plastic piece that is hallowed out on the top and bottom. It just looks like a plastic slip should go over it or something? anyone know if i am missing a cover or if you could take a pic of yours? We had hail coming down for the last 4 days so my car is in a storage garage so i cant take a picture right now. thanks.

Also i didnt know where to put this. I just felt appearance might not be the right place? sorry.

It sounds like you are missing something. Take a look at my car in my sig, you can see the shifter in one or two of the pics. You're lucky, you can buy new shift handles really cheap. I think they're around $15 or so.

It was either really late when you posted that or I am missing something. You have a Z28. The shifters are different. I will try to get pics up. Thanks for trying to help though man. I appreciate it.

They both have the plastic button that you push to allow you to move the shifter.

I bought a leather TA shifter for my car, they're expensive. Go to gmpartsdirect and put in PN 12563172 for a pic.
