i would like some input on the config of the camaro.

Before you start modding the car, learn to drive it for at least 4 months. These cars can get away from you quickly if you don't know how to drive them.
The best thing you can do is buy a bone stock Z28 and just start from there. Cherry LT1s can be had for under $10K and some LS1s are in that price range too.

i'm 18 so i sort of know where you're at
first, to be running 11's is gonna take a little bit of money, especially if you go with a 93-97 z28 (lt1)
the ls1 is gonna be more attainable at those numbers but is still gonna take a little bit of money
also, like sfb767 said, drive it for a few months stock to get to know the car
also, not sure if you have echeck laws where you live but the true duals would not be legal if you do, which the sound a little better but a single 3" system would flow just as good
gears- 3.73 for an auto, 4.11's for a stick
that's the majority opinion on this site pretty much
suspension- check the forum but swaybars, springs, and shocks make the most difference (from what i've heard) and sfc's, stb's strengthen the chassis from twisting
not sure what rear axle assembly from slp you're talking about?
all i gotta say is, you better have some money man
not sure if you're dealing or what but i never had close to that much to do stuff to my car

if you want to take the car to a road track, you will regret buying an auto. I would look for a 6 speed for sure. After you buy the car you will probably not have much money to do those mods first thing. Atleast i didnt

stickey tires, a little suspension work, longtubes, and a 150 shot will get you there with a good launch.

actually anasazi mommy and daddy arent paying for anythingreally their just helping me pay for insurance and all the modds im paying for my self . the modds will happen over time and i know it will take a good amount of money to make it run 11's but that what i would like it to run and still be able to take it on the road course. im working my *** of this summer to get money and im getting an after school job to pay for the modds. to make things even better im an intern at a mechanic shop in hayward and i told the owner about what im want to do with the camaro when i get it and he said that i could use the tools at the shop to install the parts and he would help me out with the modding. the owner has a 1968 Camaro SS/RS with a 454 that he is slowly rebuilding, ill take some pics when i get a chance.
Hey, I know how it feels to save for a car, I saved for 2.5 years for mine.
It's worth it when you finally get one though.
I would agree with the guy who said you'll want an M6 for road racing. The auto will seriously lag in downshifting when coming out of corners, which will slow you down pretty bad. If you're really set on an auto though, buy an M6 and I'll trade you for mine.
Good luck with the search!
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I don't know how much you already know about road racing and race car dynamics and the like, but if you're new to it all (like me), there's a great book out there called "Speed Secrets: Professional Race Driving Techniques" by Ross Bentley. It gets really technical at some points, but just reading through once will greatly improve your understanding of how a car handles.

mvnatedog thanks for that advice and same for everyone else and ill look up that book u mentioned but about the trans since i have that intern ship at the mechanic shop the owner can find me lots of parts for cheap and they specialize in trannys and i could get the auto for starters and then get him to find me a 6 speed and swap them myself.

Finding a 6-speed will take forever. It took me almost a year to find my 94 M6, and 5 months to find the 98 M6.
I am your age so I understand the saving up part. I do however, have to advise against it. I hope you realize how fast an 11 second car is, let a lone a bone stock LT1 for people our age. They are so easy to lose control of, I know I did. I didn't respect the car once and I hit a curb because I fishtailed too badly (that accident is not why the car is RIP though, I was T-boned by a lady who ran a stop sign...)
But anyway, drive the car for a long time and focus on the Suspension completly first. Learn how to handle that much power and learn how to obey the speed laws before you start adding crazy amounts of horsepower.
I would do your car in this order: (I don't remember LT1 specific mods, so if there are some (like the lid to the LS1, please add those in).
SFC
Catback
Shocks+Springs
Panhardbar
LCA+brackets
Torque Arm
CAI
LTs
3.73 gears+stall converter
New Tranny
12 bolt
Pulley
Head+Cam and all the acceseries
Brakes
Cosmetic stuff (hood, spoiler rims etc etc)
With some tires and a good launch, you will either be in the 11's or be damn close. You might need to get more cubes, maybe stroke it because if you plan on blowing an LT1, you will need forged internals.

i will be focusing on handling first b/ thats what ive heard from many sourses and from my own knowledde so once i get it to handle good i will looking into acceleration, i have been looking for a stocker kit to put it to 383 and ill prob bored ti also.
i was always looking into brakes and i was wondering if that slotted brakes would be better than cross drilled b/ they develp stress cracks over time. and the slotted brakes help xhaust gases escape.so if anybody knows about slotted and corssed drill brakes and which would be better for the road course and strip please enlighten me on them
thanks everybody so far about the advice your giving me
