I really need some help here. I'm having this problem starting my car. Normally when it's hot outside (usually after work) I'll try and start it, and sometimes nothing happens, and sometimes it'll start up, but then immediately die. It'll do that twice, and then the 3rd time it'll start right up.

Sometimes it'll start right up, and sometimes it won't. But whenever I have this problem, it ALWAYS starts up on the 3rd try.

Every once in a while though, nothing will happen and the Security light will be on, and will stay on. I don't know how to get the light to turn off, except for sitting there for 5 minutes and letting it go out by itself. Then it'll start up.

I have a 2000 Camaro SS, auto, by the way.

 

Do a SEARCH on VATS; this is most likely your issue with the Security light.
