My 95' LT1 has OBDII WTF?

Stopped by Dreamer1q's place today to have him recalibrate my speedo for the gear change. Cable wouldn't work cause my car has a frickin' OBDII harness on it. WTF, did my Z come with this somehow or what. I thought I had OBDI the whole time. So I guess I'm still gonna hafta go get a mail order tune. I wanted to wait. Has anyone ever heard of this before. What a pain in the ****. It always seems like I have the only car in the world with stupid crap like this on it. If it's anything to waste my time and make things harder on me, it'll be on my car. Is it possible I have an OBDII connector under the dash but still an OBDI PCM? At any rate what are the differences between the two, both pros and cons? I need a refresher since I've been making plans based on an OBD1 car. Geez....

ALL 95 f-bodys are OBD-I, and they all have a OBD-II connector, I think you need a special cable , but dreamer1q's program will work, you just need the right cable

Your 100% certain of this? That's something I was thinking. But he has a 94' and I thought 94 and 95 LT1's had the same connectors and everything. Have any idea where I can get an OBDII cable? If it's cheaper than a tune and Dreamer's still willing to help me out I'll just pick it up. Thanks

It is OBDI. It just has the OBDII connector. This confuses people all of the time.

I only have 1 cat. I was 100% certain it was OBDI until today. Thanks for the info Dave. Greatly appreciated for your research.

You have ODB1 for sure. You just have the II connector. All 95s are that way. They are not a traditional ODBII connector, the pin setup is different and matches the ODBI.

Look at my signup date, and how many posts I have. Actually, during a reshuffling of the board, a lot of people lost their post count. I lost a few thousand, but it doesn't bother me, except now I have to get back up again to be eligible to get to the secret forum, and now that lounge posts don't count, it makes it harder to get there.

I actually lost a couple thousand posts, myself. Of course, I have been posting here since 1969. (no, it's not true)

Secret forum?

There are numerous people on this board that have dual cat California cars that are certified OBD-I as the sticker under the hood states.

Yes, it always has been a confusing issue.

As far as the posts go, I guess I don't have a real life, LOL!
