Bought myself some 8.5mm MSD wires about 6 months ago and finally got round to fitting them today.I started with the drivers side as it looked easier, took me about 40 minutes. Then for the passenger side, what a joke, took about 4 hours .
In all honesty it looks to me that it would be easier to change the plugs than the wires, what a pain in the a$$,well forearms actually .I look like I've been arm wrestling a rose bush .
I managed to do it without removing anything other than the serpentine belt,so not too bad in that department .
I think I'd rather do another water-pump than the wires again though, not a nice job.

Mark.

Put on some long tube headers and an over-the-valve cover wire setup and wire/plug changes will get much easier.

I'm getting ready to do the same wires.Did you buy new looms or just use zip ties?

I don't think 8.5's will fit in the looms?? Anyhow, its much easier if you take the alternator off and loosen the power steering pump. Way way easier for the passengers side.

I just used zip ties,as the 8.5mm wires don't fit in the stock looms,as mentioned above, you could buy some after-market looms but to be honest you won't see them once they're installed.
To aid removal of the old wires cut one end off and they pull right out .

Yeah, would like some longtube headers some time in the future as I plan on keeping the car for a while .

easiest way to do the pass side, unbolt the pass side engine mount through bolt, and jack up the engine
