Mild 10sec LS1 Buildup $4500

This is what i have planned for June:

Engine: 224/228 114lsa .590/.590 cam, lid, lt headers, true duals, 36#-40# injectors, 100 dry shot n2o, dyno tuning, stock heads, msd box w/ timing retard.

Driveline: 3000 stall, 3.73's on stock 10bolt, ET streets

Suspension: sfc's, beefy torque arm, adj. panhard, stock springs/shocks

Chassis: drop weight to around 3200-3250 w/ driver.

I expect the mods to run under $4500k and put me somewhere around 370rwhp/370ft-lbs without spray and go 11.60's. With a 100 shot I would hope for 470rwhp/540ft-lbs and go 10.60's-10.70's spraying off the line w/ a 1.5x 60'.

Does that sound realistic to you guys?

Nitrous, possibly. Motor, no way. Thats not enough converter.

i honestly don't think the 10bolt will last more than a few runs with slicks.

Actually it'll probably hold up just fine, auto's are much easier on the driveline than manuals. I know of several guys around consistently running 10's on 10 bolt rear ends.

So as long as the rear end holds i'll be in the 10's correct?

Needs more converter. Skinnies would help immensely. Depends on if you can hook or not, how good the tune is, etc. But definetly doable.

Heads/cam + higher stall + slicks would get you 10's easy, low 11's without breaking a sweat at the very least. low 10's on a mild shot of n2o.

Should be no problem getting 10's... once. Then you'll tow your car home.

Ah well, 10bolts are gonna break, gotta live with it =). I was just wondering though if I understand convertors correctly, but wouldn't a 3000-3200 stall allow me to launch at 3000-3200 rpm? If so, that's where it's gonna make peak torque with the spray, so why wouldn't that be enough convertor? Why would I want to launch at say 4000rpm where the torque is lower?
