Me against a Turbo Focus... Help needed.

Ok,

So my brother is finally getting his car back from the shop. It's a 2000 Focus 3 door, all the engine internals are stock! They put a 9 psi Turbo, a whole new exhaust and some tuning done by some focus guru from N. Carolina.

My car: 93 m6, Hooker Mid leghts, No cat, 3 in catback from Flowmaster, and a K&N CAI. What are the odds of me winning? If so, what would be the best way to do the race, from a roll or from a dig? If from a roll at what MPH shoud we start?

thanks.

I dont see how this is really a "Tech" question but I seriously doubt he could stick with you only running 9 psi.

He doesn't have a chance.

Run from a roll or a dig. Just know how to drive your car and he won't have a chance.

Are you fully bolted? like it says in your sig... or just have the mentioned things?

Depending on if the focus can get traction, manual/automatic, if he can drive, if you can drive, i bet its going to be close unlike what everyone else is saying. Youre probably going to want to go from a stop so his turbo has to spool up, and you have more torque to get off the line and get a jump on him regardless.

I was thinking the same thing. SRT-4s have a better engine and use 15 psi to run the same time as LT1s.

My suggestion would be a 10-15 mph roll. He won't be able to do any sort of launch, and it'll be too slow for his turbo to be spooled. If he's on stock tires you could do it from a dig too, he'll just spin if he doesn't know what he's doing (it sounds like he doesn't since he turboed a Focus ).

I'm sorry it's in the wrong forum but I noticed that there is alot of knowledge in this forum. As far as being fully bolted, I have all the bolt ons possible but I think the true power gainers are exhaust and intake bolt ons.

I will do from a Dig. He has street tires his car is manual my too.

I'm sure a stock LT1 could pull a win in that race, so if someone who had never seen a car, and was partially retarded piloted your car, they'd still win.

Re: Me against a Turbo Focus... Help needed.

hehe, no contest man. Focus will get EATEN up.

And if you really want to embrass the guy, put on a pair of slicks or drag radials and do a drag from a STOP.

Focus = front wheel drive baby tires, it's not going anywhere.

Thats a vid of me racing a prelude with a turbo kit at 6psi. Keep in mind, this is my car all motor from a roll. If I sprayed a 100 shot, LOL, I'd be a little dot in the horizon

Re: Me against a Turbo Focus... Help needed.

ive seen jackson supercharged svt focuses still run high 15's low 16's in good indiana air, i cant even imagine a turbo with 9 psi being much better. you should be able to beat him and use skip shift to save your gas

I would run him from a stop or a roll.

Re: Me against a Turbo Focus... Help needed.

Fastest Focus I ever saw ran low 12's...

ATI Motorsports swapped a full '03 Cobra drivetrain into an '03 Focus. 32v 4.6L, supercharger, converted to rear drive with the Cobra tranny, transplanted all of the Cobra's electronics along with the gauge cluster.

That thing was NUTS. It's the only time I've ever wanted a Focus.
