Well relizing that gaz is now 3.40 a gallon i saw this Max Mile stuff from gunk in advanced auto today, its suppose to increase your gas mialge up to 7%, so i figured what the hell and bought it for my LS1, it was 10 bucks so even if it doesnt work im not out that much, Has anyone evey used this stuff or anything like it?

 

So, you spent $10 on "gunk" to save yourself $6 worth of gas? Hmmmm...

 

I think he wasted the ten bucks.

I don't think you will get a noticable increase in mileage

 

*Personally* I think that if you are going to drive a V-8 powered sports car you are going to have accept the fact that you aren't going to get the best gas mileage - it's a trade off

I have my Z28 and a 1998 Ext Cab Chevy 4x4 so gas mileage doesn't bother me a whole lot - and hey the Camaro gets better mileage than the truck so I'm laughing

If you want to maximize your gas mileage make sure your car is in good tune, clean air filter, good fuel filter, tires properly inflated and don't put your right foot into it too hard

 

My V8 powered sports car gets better milage than Subaru's 4cyl sports car.

Lets do some math, everyones favorite subject.

At 25 miles per gallon and filling up at 13 gallons here are the numbers.

25 * 1.07 = 26.75 miles per gallon w/ "gunk"

25 * 13 = 325 total miles traveled

26.75 * 13 = 347.75 total miles traveled w/ "gunk"

13 * 3.40 / 325 = 13.6 cents per mile

(10 + 13* 3.40) / 347.74 = 15.6 cents per mile w/ "gunk"

At these numbers, it is costing you money.

I ran these numbers several different ways. If you only had to put in 1/4 of the bottle at a fillup, then at 25miles per gallon,

Save 2 tenths of a cent (assuming it actually does 7% mileage). This number goes down with increased gas mileage. Now, I realize that 25 miles per gallon is a best case senario for everyone. I almost get 25 miles per gallon. Here are the numbers at 20 miles per gallon.

well the results are in....i use to get 200 miles to a tank of gas city driving, im getting about 240 now, thats 40 extra mile to each tank of gas. And also i think i may of confused some people, you put this stuff in every oil change. so in my opinion it is well worth it, $10 every oil change to get 40 extra miles to a tank

 

So basically its just a fuel system cleaner/treatment.

I went from 22-24 mpg in my Wife's GAGT in the last 2 tanks of fuel, that equates to ~18 miles difference w/no treatment and no change of driving habits. This would have been more drastic if my top end was never cleaned and I had just ran something through it that cleaned it.

When is the last time you ran a fuel system cleaner? A friend of mine picked up 10 whp on his car just by adding some injector cleaner. Now did the injector cleaner give him more power or was it just because his injectors were dirty before???

 

yea its a fuel and oil treatment /cleaner you add the bottle to your oil at every oil change and put a bottle in you tank too. Ive never used a fuel cleaner when ive had the car but ive only had it since july, and yea your friends injectors were probably just drity
