I an picking up a 94 z28 m6 next week and this will be my first camaro. I am reading everywhere about this thing call a optispark, what the heck is this? Is it a msd of some sort? How can I know if one is bad? Also, what else should I look for that is worn? I'm not a newb to cars but I am new to a camaro so im asking for camaro specific mantaince.

 

An optispark is a distributer; it distributes a spark to the spark plug wires and down to the plugs. You have an unvented opti, and there is a sticky on top if the "lt1 tech" page that you should read.
