Is there any disadvantage to porting the MAF? Will it throw a code or anything like that? Also is there a noticable gain from this?

It will not throw a code, but I think to get any gains from it PCM should be reprogrammed. I have ported MAF, and mine A/F ratio were screwed up before PCM tune.
